TRC are currently supporting a fantastic well established care provider in sourcing a Speech and Language Therapist in Loughborough.
The service supports individuals withperson-centred care for individuals with acquired or traumatic brain injuries, progressive neurological conditions, spinal cord injuries, and palliative care needs. It adopts a multi-disciplinary approach to deliver tailored support across various care pathways.
This role is perfect for someone passionate about delivering therapeutic interventions and supporting the Occupational Therapy service within care services.
AbouttheRole:
As a Speech and Language Therapistyour responsibilities will include:
- Promoting and safeguarding the welfare of vulnerable adults in your care.
- Managing a personal clinical caseload, including assessment, differential diagnosis, treatment planning, interventions, and outcome evaluation.
- Leading the review and discharge process for individual service users.
- Maintaining high professional standards and adhering to group policies, with support from your line manager.
- Using evidence-based practice and outcome measures to demonstrate clinical effectiveness.
- Referring service users to other services where appropriate, ensuring consent is obtained from commissioning agents.
- Delivering and leading group care programmes alongside other therapists or support/rehabilitation assistants.
- Collecting and submitting timely caseload statistics to contribute to service development.
- Attending case conferences and annual reviews to support service users and their families.
- Maintaining comprehensive and contemporaneous clinical records and reports in line with national and local standards.
- Contributing to the development of speech and language therapy.
About You
We are looking for someone with:
- Current registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) and the Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists (RCSLT).
- Strong communication and negotiation skills to engage with service users, carers, and other professionals.
- A commitment to evidence-based practice and continuous professional development.
- A compassionate and proactive approach to supporting individuals with a range of complex needs.
- The ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
